Below is the write up submitted by Mr. Christian Lanzaro, a colleague of Ms. Specht.
Mary is a parent liaison at Hutchison Elementary. There is a student whose mother has cancer. Mary has worked tirelessly to help provide support and encouragement for the family and the student. Mary was just recently out of school because she had surgery, but that did not stop her from reaching out to the family that day to encourage the mom and the family while she was recovering herself. This is just one of many examples of her character and excellence that she brings to FCPS and truly shows that she cares.
