Preparing for Assessments
Preparing for the SOL Test
On the week of the test:
Encourage students to relax and think of the test as a chance to show what they have learned. Let your child know it is okay to be nervous and they only need to try their best.
On the day before of the test:
Make sure your child goes to bed at an appropriate time. Sleep is a large factor in a child's success in learning. They will have a better testing experience if they are well rested.
On the day of the test:
Eating a healthy breakfast will help stimulate your child's brain. Ensure they arrive to school on time and feeling confident. Remind your child as they leave the house they need to try their best.
